Sofitel Moorea photographer, your vows from above

First came the traditional ceremony. The drums, the chants, the flower crowns, the Polynesian welcome in full.

Then, later in the day, something entirely different. Just the two of you, at the edge of the lagoon. A few words, spoken low. The lagoon as your only witness.

That second moment is the one couples rarely picture. Too simple, they think. Not dramatic enough.

They are wrong. That is where everything happens.

A moment that belongs only to you

The traditional ceremony brings everyone together. It is loud, alive, full of the people you love.

The private vows are different. They belong to no one but the two of you.

At Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora, that quiet corner is easy to find. A pier reaching over the water. A beach that empties out at the end of the day. The sound of the lagoon, and nothing else.

You do not need an elaborate setting. The lagoon already does the work.

A resort you have to be inside

One thing worth knowing, and it matters. You cannot photograph at the Sofitel the way you would on a public beach. Access is reserved for guests of the resort.

So this session is for you if you are staying there, or booking your ceremony on site. That limit is exactly what makes it feel yours. You are not passing through. For the length of your stay, you are home.

The rest, I know by heart. The angles, the hours, the precise spot where the lagoon turns the color you only see here. Twenty-five years on these islands do not happen overnight.

The view from above, where not everyone can fly

Sofitel Ia Ora sits very close to the Temae airstrip. And near an airfield, the airspace is tightly controlled.

In plain terms, you do not simply send a drone up here. It is regulated, and it requires certification and proper authorizations.

That is exactly where it counts. I am a certified drone pilot. I file the flight plans, I respect the zones, I know the limits. When the conditions and the clearances line up, you get the frame almost no one has here. The two of you, small, at the edge of an endless lagoon, seen from the sky.

The drone is never guaranteed, and I always say so plainly. Weather and regulations have the final word. But when it flies, another dimension of your story opens up.

Why the morning light changes everything

I only shoot at golden hour. Sunrise or sunset, never high noon.

It is not a whim. In Moorea, the lagoon only gives up its real blues at those hours. The morning especially, when the water is smooth and the light slides across it without harshness.

At midday, the sun flattens everything. Hard shadows, squinting, heat that wears you down. That is not what you want to remember.

You want to remember the moment when everything felt right. That is the moment I go looking for.

What stays, long after

In ten years, you will not remember how many photos there were. You will remember what you felt when the gallery opened.

Your hands, your rings, that shell bracelet on your wrist. The light on the water. The wide frame where the two of you look tiny, held by the lagoon.

That is what I come to do at Sofitel Moorea. Not a service. A moment you will keep, and one your children will look at one day to understand who you were.

Writing love with light. It is all I know how to do, and I do it for you.

More couple and wedding stories are waiting for you in the journal. And if you are planning your stay or your ceremony at Sofitel Moorea, a simple message is all it takes. We take our time.
