What the sky reveals

The film is not the proposal. It is the after. The mood. That suspended stretch of time when nothing is left but the two of them, the lagoon, and minutes that slow right down.

From the sky, everything changes scale. You finally see just how tiny this motu is in all that blue. Two figures floating, arms outstretched, alone in the world. And below the surface, life passing by: turtles, a small shark gliding without a sound.

That is what an aerial film is. Not the proposal filmed. An atmosphere, a moving keepsake, to revisit as many times as you like.

Once the yes was said

The pressure lifts, and everything loosens. The laughter comes. The gestures turn freer.

A flower crown, a bouquet in the same tones, feet in the warm water. Darya spinning around, Ratan watching her. The kind of moment no direction can manufacture.

We took our time. No watch, no rush. Just the late-day light and a lagoon all to themselves.

The details that matter

The ring on her finger, at last. The bouquet and its embroidered heart, those few words placed by hand. And two glasses clinking, a toast to what is beginning.

It is these little things that make the big memories. Not the grand staging. The real moments, kept exactly as they were.

48 hours, and the film was ready

That is the whole point of content creation. Two days after the yes, they already had their first images. Today, the full gallery is here, and so is the film.

Something to relive, to share, and to remember not as one isolated instant, but as a whole atmosphere. The atmosphere of a day when they were, truly, alone in the world.

We’re so grateful to Nico and Amelie for being such a huge part of our engagement in Moorea. They were incredible from start to finish.

Nico helped me plan the surprise well before we arrived, coordinating with Captain Taina, helping me choose the private motu for the proposal, and thinking through all the little details with me. They also sent us a style guide beforehand, which was genuinely helpful. And, on the day of, Amelie selected a beautiful flower crown in Moorea that fit perfectly with the proposal.

For the proposal, Nico and Amelie traveled from Tahiti to Moorea and joined our private boat trip pretending to be another couple of tourists. Since it was literally just the four of us on the boat, they really had to sell it, and they played the part perfectly. My fiancée had no idea. They were incredibly discreet while still being ready for the moment when we got to the motu.

The photos came out beautifully, and the drone footage is incredible. We now have these amazing shots of the proposal on a motu in Moorea that we’ll get to keep for the rest of our lives.

More than anything, we really appreciated how much Nico and Amelie cared. They put a ton of thought and effort into making the surprise work, and they were also just wonderful people to share such a personal day with.

We feel very lucky that Nico and Amelie were there to photograph our engagement. They made an already once-in-a-lifetime day even more special, and we’ll always be grateful to them for it. RATAN
